The trailhead is located in the upper part of the medieval village of Monteleone, near the abandoned quarry of St. Anthony, which now hosts an adventure park. A small path can be seen descending gently to the left, with a stepped walking surface, flanked by a wooden railing.
The path immediately leads to the base of the limestone walls: throughout the walk, by carefully observing the rock, one can spot interesting fossils that bear witness to the shallow marine environment in which the rocks forming the cliff of present-day Monteleone were formed during the Miocene. On the right is the entrance to the Su Giardinu quarry, which occasionally hosts cultural events today. The trail descends further and then, along a comfortable ledge, traverses northwest, reaching a large cave. On the left, a small artificial hollow in an isolated boulder has given rise to the legend that sa Sennora, Judge Eleonora, used to sit here to deliver her decrees.
You continue along the base of the cliffs, which now rise up, offering splendid views of Lake Temo. On the right, the cliffs feature numerous climbing routes. Their morphology constantly changes: vertical walls alternate with sinuous waves and deep caves where water colors the limestone along its path. In a particularly damp area, there is a spring which, in ancient times, was harnessed with two troughs literally carved into the rock.
"The route continues past the base of the Ferrata della Regina: here, the path narrows and passes alongside large boulders, even squeezing through a narrow natural passage before reaching a wide ledge, now heading east-southeast. A narrow, slippery descent allows for a drop in elevation and leads to a wider ledge below, continuing toward a large fig tree under which the path passes. On the rock face to the right, it is now possible to observe the geological discontinuity between the limestone and the older, greenish-colored ignimbritic rocks.
The last stretch of the trail leads to reconnect with trail 205, passing beside the ruins of a modern sheepfold that has, unfortunately, partially spoiled this corner of the mountain. A few steps further and you descend towards Sa Funtana, also known as Funtana de Binza ‘e Susu: here you meet trail 205 again and, by taking a right, you quickly reach the center of Monteleone, completing a fantastic loop.
