The smallest town in the Sassari area, with about 100 inhabitants, in northwestern Sardinia, is a charming medieval village located on the hill of Su Monte, with Lake Temo partially surrounding it below.
In the Middle Ages, it was a fief of the Doria family, who built a castle there, equipping it with strong walls. The name, which first appeared in a document from 1364, recalls its origins tied to the famous Genoese family.
