Roadbook
We start next to the roadway of the SP19, not far from the junction that quickly leads to the Nuraghe Appiu and Trail 303. The location takes its name from the nearby Mount Cuccu, sometimes an occasional roost for griffons.
We immediately begin heading east, mostly on flat ground, in a vast and scenic environment.
The road gradually starts to descend, surrounded by dry-stone walls and scattered farms. It then climbs slightly, flanked by beautiful cork oaks, and you are now faced with the unmistakable bulk of Monte Minerva, with its characteristic flattened profile, a reminder of the Pliocene basaltic eruptions that shaped the landscape of this area.
The final stretch of gentle slopes in the woods leads you to the side of the Montiosciu de Su Chercu hill. Here, you rejoin Trail 301. From this point, you can either return to Villanova Monteleone by turning left or continue to Monte Minerva by turning right.
