One of the classic Linas trails, discovering the highest waterfall in Sardinia, Muru Mannu. You will walk on easy mule tracks in the woods, passing by old pigsties and reaching the banks of Riu Cannisoni with a series of fords and a stunning view of the waterfall area. Further on, there is a trail for experienced hikers that makes it possible, with some scrambling, to reach the foot of the waterfall (this section requires good physical condition and experience in scrambling on challenging terrain).

• In 2021, the Forestas Agency, in cooperation with the Cagliari CAI, carried out checks and maintenance activities on the trail, including signposts and waymarkers.
• In severe weather, in light of the area’s terrain, these trails can be exposed to significant hydrogeological hazards.
• Part of the trail may become impassable in the event of heavy rain, flooding or when the stream is swollen.
• TRAIL WITH SOME EXPOSED SECTIONS, with a walking surface that is wide enough for easy passage, but on granite slabs or large rocks that, in rainy weather or on particularly humid days, can be extremely slippery, increasing the risk of falling.
• There are some unauthorised lines and ropes, which should absolutely not be relied on!

Main features and tips for enjoying the trail

It is essential to carry a good supply of water, although there are streams along the short trail.
