Accessible trails

A wide area at the foot of the Linas mountain complex, crossed by the Leni river which flows into the vast artificial basin located downstream.

Here it is possible to observe the most varied species of the Mediterranean maquis. The holm oak is predominant, which due to its characteristics makes the place pleasant for the cool and shady climate, especially in the summer period. The park is famous for the rich presence of cherry orchards that extend into the valley, covering it in the spring season with a delicate white color and later with the bright red color of the ripe fruits, excellent to taste especially during the Cherry Festival which takes place on the first Sunday of June.

Starting from the park it is possible to reach splendid mountain locations, waterfalls and high peaks.

Un’ampia area ai piedi del complesso montuoso del Linas, attraversata dal rio Leni che riversa le sue acque nel vasto bacino artificiale presente a valle.

Qui è possibile osservare le più variegate specie della macchia mediterranea. Predominante è la presenza del leccio, che per le sue caratteristiche rende, soprattutto nel periodo estivo, il luogo piacevole per il clima fresco e ombroso. Il parco è famoso per la ricca presenza di ciliegeti che si estendono nella valle rivestendola, nella stagione primaverile, di un delicato colore bianco e più in là del colore rosso acceso dei frutti maturi, ottimi da gustare soprattutto in occasione della Sagra delle ciliegie che si svolge la prima domenica di giugno.
Partendo dal parco è possibile raggiungere splendide località montane, cascate e alte cime.

This is the highest peak of the Linas massif, and therefore of all of southern Sardinia: from Punta Perda de sa Mesa (1236m), the panorama is spectacular: you are surrounded by the highest peaks of the Linas, by deep valleys, and - on clear days - your gaze extends to the sea of Arbus, Buggerru, the Oristano area, Montiferru, and Gennargentu...

The route to reach this summit is particularly long and strenuous, due to the steep slope. It can be reached from the high route (101) and the 107 trail. Hiking in this mountain is a task for experienced hikers!

Reaching the top fully repays the effort.

For the return, you can descend along a path that flanks a fence of the Forestas Agency and a small dry stone wall to the Nuraxi de Togoro spring: from here, you continue downhill on a long, easily followed dirt road.

Si tratta della cima più alta del Linas e quindi di tutta la Sardegna meridionale: da P.ta Perda de sa Mesa (1236m) il panorama é spettacolare: si è circondati dalle cime più alte del Linas, da profonde vallate e - nelle giornate di cielo terso - da qui si spazia con lo sguardo fino al mare di Arbus, a Buggerru, all'oristanese, al Montiferru, al Gennargentu...

Il percorso per raggiungere questa vetta è particolarmente lungo e faticoso, per la forte pendenza. Raggiungibile dall'alta via (101) e dal 107.   Camminare in questa montagna è impresa da escursionisti esperti!

Arrivando quassù la fatica viene pienamente ripagata.

Per il rientro si può ridiscendere lungo un sentiero che fiancheggia una recinzione dell’Agenzia Forestas e un piccolo muretto a secco fino alla sorgente di Nuraxi de Togoro: da qui si prosegue sempre in discesa su un lungo stradello facile da seguire.
