The Maidopis botanical garden is one of the natural attractions of the Settefratelli forest. It has four thematic sections. Sclerophyllous woodlands and scrublands, Degraded scrublands and garrigue, Rupicolous environments and Wetlands.
The green areas along the trail are planted with the trees, shrubs and endemics of the Mediterranean flora, and more specifically with endemic species of the Settefratelli forest. The itinerary has the important goal of allowing the blind and disabled, with or without a carer, to enjoy the botanical garden. The trail has rope guides that lead the visitor to stops, consisting of tactile information panels and wooden boxes containing flowers, leaves or seeds related to the theme of the stop.
The trail leads across the Maidopis stream via a small accessible bridge. Here you can take a break under the holm oaks, while plant lovers can explore all the native and endemic species of the wetlands in the Settefratelli forest. If you are lucky, at dawn and dusk you may spot small herds of deer in the restocking pen behind the botanical garden. The garden has a classroom, a refreshment and information point and toilets.
