Open woods 2025 Proposal
This itinerary is among the treks proposed for the visit to the southern Limbara forest complex as part of the 'Boschi Aperti' event on 16/11/2025.
Boschi Aperti is an event promoted by the Fo.Re.S.T.A.S. Agency, dedicated to discovering the woods and forests of Sardinia. An invitation to walk, slow down, and listen: three weekends to experience nature in an authentic way, through hikes, outdoor activities, and moments of meeting and exchange.

Short description
The loop trail is approximately 3 km long with a positive elevation gain of 600 m.
The hike takes a maximum of 3 hours and is easy to walk.
We will start from the Mediterranean Arboretum: the initial descent will allow us to enjoy views of Mount Acuto, and then we will cross the Butterfly Garden.
From here, we will enter the Mediterranean scrub to reach the shepherd’s hut of Tiu Daniele and, afterward, Nunzia’s small lake.
The route will end with the ascent back to the starting point.
