Boschi Aperti 2025: the dates and the organization of the event days

"Boschi Aperti 2025” is a free event promoted by Forestas to explore the forests of Sardinia through hikes, outdoor activities, and thematic seminars. It takes place on the last three Sundays of November across three stages: Berchidda, Santadi, and Orgosolo. On Saturdays there are meetings focused on trails, wildlife, and LIFE projects, followed on Sundays by hikes and guided tours designed to highlight the area’s nature, landscapes, and cultural heritage.

This experimental 2025 re-edition of the historic event “Foreste Aperte”, originally created in 2002 by the Sardinian Forestry Agency and successfully relaunched in 2010–2012, represents a journey into the green hearts of Sardinia.

It is an event promoted by the Regional Agency Fo.Re.S.T.A.S., dedicated to discovering the forests of Sardinia through excursions, outdoor activities, and thematic meetings.

Great emphasis will be placed on trail-based activities during the three days scheduled for Boschi Aperti, with a seminar on the RES in Berchidda — also accredited for AIGAE training credits — as well as excursions and organized hiking on the three Sundays of the event.

The main event will take place on the last three Sundays of November. It will be free and open to the public, offering visits to the island’s “forests” as part of an autumn initiative featuring free activities and forest hospitality, inviting people to discover the island’s green treasures while spending a few hours immersed in Nature. On the Saturday afternoon preceding each Sunday event, Forestas will host small conferences on environmental themes (the trail network, wildlife, special projects), open to the public.

The initiative aims to highlight the authenticity of Sardinian landscapes — ancient forests, the breath of nature — and to promote knowledge of the secrets safeguarded by those who care for them every day.

Boschi Aperti 2025 is therefore an invitation to slow down, to walk, and to listen: an experience that brings together nature, culture, and understanding of the territory in three special stages:

The scheduled events and seminars

Programma del seminario sulla Sentieristica, Berchidda 15 novembre ore 17 presso cinema-teatro Santa Croce 16 novembre dalle ore 9:30 presso Foresta Demaniale Limbara Sud.

The event scheduled for Saturday, November 22, will take place in the council hall of the Municipality of Santadi, at Piazza Marconi 1 (corner with Via Vittorio Veneto), on the topic: LIFE Projects for the conservation of the Griffon Vulture and the reintroduction of Bonelli's Eagle.
Meanwhile, Sunday, November 23, "Boschi Aperti a Pantaleo" will be dedicated to excursions.

Finally, in Orgosolo, the conference will be held on Saturday, November 29, at the Municipal Auditorium, Piazza Caduti in Guerra, Deffenu complex, on the topic of the conservation of the Sardinian Trout and the LIFE STREAMS Project. On Sunday, November 30, the concluding day of Boschi Aperti 2025 will be dedicated to excursions and guided tours at Montes, the gateway to the Supramonte.
