This beautiful variant allows you to reach the Mui Muscas oasis via an alternative route, following a historic road with a constant and moderate ascent. It's a very useful path for planning a hiking or cycle-touring loop starting from the town center, then joining the main path, the 509. Since the 509 is steeper, it can be used more profitably for descent by cycle-tourists and vice-versa by those who move on foot on this mountain.
Along the way, you will encounter some historic springs among pastures and fields that were once cultivated, while higher up, young holly oak woods occupy the landscape, and finally the reforestation that shades the Mui Muscas oasis, famous for the presence of a center for the protection, reproduction, and conservation of the Sardinian donkey.
