The pathway

The route starts with the Maidopis dirt road, leading immediately uphill to encounter a wide, cobbled mule track, the cobbles denoting the track’s importance in olden times. After a short stretch the cobbles give way to a less impressive mule track, but still well made. It climbs up through the young woodland, where you can see ancient signs of pastoral settlements. As you progress, the gaps between the trees let you spot the unmistakable outline of Perda a sub’e Pari and other huge rocks that tower above the woods. Others are found on either side of the path, often modified as shelters.
The track bends to the left, leading uphill out out the holm oak forest, keeping the Riu Tuppe Ludu stream, which has a few small waterfalls, on the right. The going underfoot deteriorates, as the path is ravaged by water on the slope, then returns to fine mule track that crosses to the right on the slope.
With some hairpin bends surrounded by the remains of the charcoal-making sites, the mule track cuts diagonally across the slopes, cutting through the vegetation of strawberry trees and young holm oaks, until it links up with trail 812 at a clear intersection of mule tracks.
