Ippovia è un itinerario percorribile a cavallo, raramente asfaltato, che attraversa riserve naturali, boschi, colline e vallate, talvolta costeggiando corsi d'acqua e spiagge, attraversando evidenze storiche-culturali o borghi. L'ippovia consente la pratica dell'equiturismo ma può anche essere percorsa a piedi. Lungo il percorso si prevedono tappe, distanti non più di 20 km, dove cavaliere e cavallo possano trovare assistenza, ristoro ed eventuale pernottamento...

Locally also known as Coccorroci Pools, the exact toponym is however "Is Piscinas". Another name for them is Monte Ferru pools. Furthermore, they are often mistakenly confused with another toponym (Piscina 'e Cerbus) which is actually located elsewhere, on a plateau on the other side (north-west) of Monte Ferru, along a forest track where there is a small nursery and a small Forestas construction site, but there are no waterfalls.
This place, instead, is a spectacle of nature. From the 'su Accu ‘e s’Axina' spring, crystal-clear waters flow down the valley, creating a succession of small waterfalls, with drops of a few meters, and ‘resting’ in red porphyry pools of varying width and depth.
The scenery is enchanting. The pools will appear to the hiker suddenly, behind a tangle of holm oaks, junipers, and oleanders. The pure, clear, and very fresh waters are ideal for a regenerating swim, especially during the summer heat: lulled by the gentle sound of the waterfalls.
Note localmente anche come Piscine Coccorroci, il toponimo esatto è però "Is Piscinas".
Un altro loro nome è piscine di Monte Ferru. Inoltre sono spesso erroneamente confuse con un altro toponimo (Piscina 'e Cerbus) che in realtà è da tutt'altra parte, su un altipiano nell'altro versane (nord-ovest) del monte Ferru, lungo una pista forestale dove è presente un vivaietto e un piccolo cantiere Forestas, ma non ci sono le cascate.
Questo luogo è invece uno spettacolo della natura. Dalla sorgente su Accu ‘e s’Axina, acque cristalline si incanalano verso valle creando in successione cascatelle, con salti di qualche metro, e ‘riposandosi’ in vasche di porfido rosso di varia larghezza e profondità.
Lo scenario è incantevole. Le piscine appariranno all'escursionista all'improvviso, dietro un intreccio di lecci, ginepri e oleandri. Le acque pure, limpide e freschissime sono ideali per un bagno rigenerante, specie durante l’afa estiva: cullati dal dolce suono delle cascatelle.
The territory of Gairo is very extensive, stretching from the Gennargentu mountains to the sea. Among the natural attractions in the municipality are Mount Perda Liana and the Taquisara Cave, which can be partially visited thanks to a guided tourist route. The cave overlooks the hamlet of Taquisara, from which it takes its name, with about 200 inhabitants and located about 8 km from Gairo. Along the coast, the beaches of Su Sirboni and Coccorrocci are prized, as is the imposing Monte Ferru, where particular natural pools called Piscinas are found. The mountain is home to wild boars, foxes, etc., as well as species of particular importance such as the Mouflon, of which several dozen specimens still exist. Of notable interest is the Nuraghe Serbissi, near the town of Osini.

Il territorio di Gairo è molto esteso va dalle montagne del Gennargentu sino a mare, tra i luoghi di interesse naturalistico presenti nel comune, vi è il Monte Perda Liana e la la Grotta Taquisara parzialmente visitabile grazie ad un percorso turistico guidato. La grotta sovrasta la frazione di Taquisara, da cui prende il nome, con circa 200 abitanti e distante circa 8 km da Gairo. Mentre nella costa sono di pregio le spiagge di Su Sirboni e Coccorrocci, e l'imponente Monte Ferru, nel quale sono presenti delle particolari vasche naturali chiamate Piscinas. Nel monte sono presenti oltre che cinghiali, volpi ecc., anche specie di particolare importanza come il Muflone, se ne contano ancora diverse decine di esemplari. Di notevole interesse è il Nuraghe Serbissi, vicino al paese di Osini
