Goceano
: description

The region of Goceano comprises an area of medium altitude with mountains and hills, set between Mount Acuto , the Barbagia mountains and the
Marghine chain. The area is characterised by the summit of Mount Rasu, and the Tirso river with its many tributaries; these river habitats create rich and diverse woodland environments and are especially important for the wildlife that relies on the fresh waters of the island’s inland areas. The landscape is characterised by wooded areas and pastures lined by Mediterranean oaks such as holm oak, downy oak and cork oak, and by shrub formations of Mediterranean maquis.
